"Bathed in Mystery and Suspense...
Classic and New Berlin School Synthesizer pads, sequences, and arpeggios
with electric guitars and percussive arrangements"
The Berlin School is a style of electronic music that emerged in the 1970s. An offshoot of Krautrock, Berlin School was so named because most of its early practitioners were based in West Berlin, Germany. It was shaped by artists such as Tangerine Dream. Following the "First Ones" the movement took a number of directions and influences, but retain some elements that allow them to be recognized by enthusiast. Synthesizer pads, sequences, and arpeggios are always core elements. Electric guitars and limited percussions are often added to the mix, but without overwhelming the core ingredient: Synthesizers.
This album, "Berlin Dreams" is a compilation of music inspired by Berlin School Electronic Music and taken from a selection of albums by Sequential Dreams, a project founded by Canada's Kuutana, but often including featured musicians sourced worldwide.
